Northside Elementary gathers donations for Afghan children at Fort McCoy

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – A La Crosse elementary faculty is supporting youngsters of refugee households at Fort McCoy.

Northside Elementary and Coulee Montessori held a donation drive Friday to gather clothes, toys, blankets, and different requirements for Afghan youngsters.

Principal Nicki Pope says she’s grateful for the overwhelming group response, and hopes the drive illustrates the worth of generosity for college students.

“I feel it’s an enormous lesson for our youngsters which can be right here to see the affect that it has to have the ability to give when you’ll be able to, to offer for others which can be much less lucky,” Pope added.

Pope will personally ship the donated gadgets this weekend, exhibiting first-hand the help members of the Coulee Area are offering for the refugees.
